Re: [sig-policy]Proposals for Address Policy SIG at APNIC15
re: An Interim Scheme for Signing the Public DNS Root
i propose that this not be discussed in an apnic policy context at
all, but rather be a nice technical presentation of an idea.
the reasons are
o the proposal is not yet even a published internet-draft johan's
old one had serious issues, and he has a major revision in
private discussion.
o this is not an address policy issue. it is a dns and security
architecture and engineering subject of great technical
complexity, and depth. the folk needed to discuss it, e.g.,
steve bellovin and the other security folk reviewing it will
not even be present.
o this is an intersection of ietf, ican't, and the security
community. apnic could easily embarrass itself anywhere from
layer three to layer nine on this one.
but it is a very interesting, albeit technically deep, subject, and
i would look forward to hearing and discussing it, but not in a
policy context.
