Dear Community Members, This email presents a summary of the policy proposals currently in discussion and what stage it is in according to the Policy Development Process of RIPE. Three proposals currently in the Discussion Phase: ----------------------------------------------- - 2014-03: Remove Multihoming Requirement for AS Number Assignments This proposal asks the RIPE NCC to assign a new AS Number if an End User has a need that cannot be satisfied with an existing one. It also requires that the RIPE NCC record this need but not evaluate it. - 2015-02: Keep IPv6 PI When Requesting IPv6 Allocation The proposal argues that the current policy punishes organisations that configured IPv6 PI as a non-LIR and require additional IPv6 space to meet their business and operational needs. - 2015-01: Alignment of Transfer Requirements for IPv4 Allocations This proposal aims is to prevent speculating organisations from abusing the IPv4 transfer policy to make a financial profit.
