[sig-policy] prop-069 to be abandoned
Following discussions regarding action item pol-27-02 which says;
pol-27-02
---------
Pending approval at each remaining stage of the policy development
process, the APNIC Secretariat to implement prop-69, "Global policy
proposal for the allocation of IPv4 blocks to Regional Internet
Registries," with the following clarifications:
- The minimum size for redistributions by IANA to be explicitly
documented
- Examples of how IANA would redistribute space to the RIRs to be
added
This proposal reached consensus at APNIC 27 and subsequently completed
the APNIC Policy Development Process on Thursday, 21 May 2009.
The Address Supporting Organization Address Council has abandoned
prop-069 as a global policy proposal as the proposal did reach consensus
in all the RIRs. As a result, the APNIC Policy SIG meeting at APNIC 32
resolved that:
The membership of the APNIC Policy SIG recognizes that Prop-069 -
Global policy proposal for the allocation of IPv4 blocks to
Regional Internet Registries has been been superseded by Prop-097
and that Prop-069 should be abandoned.
The APNIC Policy SIG Chairs propose that following an 8-week comment
period, the SIG request the APNIC Executive Council to dis-endorse
prop-069, that action item pol-27-02 be closed, and that prop-069 be
listed as "Abandoned".
The comment period will end Monday, 31 October 2011.
