i am not sure your wording matches my perception. how about
we are doing about all the sane things we can think of to promote
deployment of ipv6, have been doing so for over a decade, and are not
succeeding anywhere near as well as we would like.
i.e. there are underlying problems that the kinds of things we have done,
and probably can do, are not surmounting.
so adding another kilojoule on the current vector will probably not move
the mass much faster.
if we believe that, than we need a new vector, not another kilojoule.
but a whole lot of people have been trying a whole lot of vectors for a
decade++ (remember when 3g ws gonna blow ipv4 away and force ipv6
deployment?). there has been far more powerpoint than packets, and i
will admit to contributing. damned depressing.
so i deploy ipv6 in my environments, help others to do the same, lecture
and pontificate until people are bored, and hope folk will realize how
really bad an ipv4 natted world would be, essentially then end of the
internet and the return to telco walled gardens.
