Keeping in view that one of the RIRs is facing a serious threat in its ability to provide its mandated charter of services thereby putting its members business at risk. Failure of one of the RIRs may have a ripple effect on the whole RIR eco system. To what level that risk will manifest on the community needs assessment. I feel that the NRO EC Chair after his due consultation with other RIRs may come out with a statement. The statement may address the current known facts on the issues at AFRINIC, Legal issues involved, effect likely on the RIR ecosystem and any mitigation actions that NRO community can and should take to control the situation. Suggestions received regarding Transfer Policy, taking over of services by other RIR’s till situation resolves, providing material and financial support and other recommendations be considered when drafting a suggested action plan. The crux is that continued services must be provided. Faith of the community be maintained. Perhar
