[apnic-talk] Bogon route objects in the data base
I just now re-fetched the latest APNIC WHOIS data base and recalculated
the lists of bogon route objects that still remain in the data base.
I summarize these below, along with the curent routing for each. (There
are only 9 of them as of now.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
49.40.4.0/24 64520 2018-01-16
Bogon ASN - IP space currently routed (49.40.0.0/15) by AS55836
103.70.232.0/24 7363 2018-05-31
Bogon ASN - IP space currently NOT ROUTED
103.127.238.0/23 209956 2019-03-07
Bogon ASN - IP space currently NOT ROUTED
112.79.112.0/24 65010 2020-11-03
Bogon (reserved) ASN - IP space currently routed by AS38266
112.79.118.0/24 65010 2020-11-03
Bogon (reserved) ASN - IP space currently routed by AS38266
114.130.75.0/24 65505 2018-11-05
Bogon (reserved) ASN - IP space currently routed by AS132602
114.130.108.0/24 65530 2020-04-05
Bogon (reserved) ASN - IP space currently routed (114.130.0.0/17) by AS17806
203.9.118.0/24 18549 2020-05-25
Bogon ASN - IP space currently NOT ROUTED
2405:0700:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF::/112 45756 2015-05-05
Bogon ASN - IP space currently NOT ROUTED
------------------------------------------------------------------------
As illustrated by the above information, all nine of these bogon route
objects may now be deleted from the data base and doing so will
demonstratably have -zero- operational effects on anyone.
Nobody enjoys the chore of "taking out the trash". I understand that.
But I don't see why, after APNIC staff has been given four full weeks to
mull over these bogon route objects, that it should take any more thought
or discussion or deliberation before these bits of garbage get thrown
into the trash where they belong. (Is the APNIC staff still holding on
to old banana peels for sentimental reasons? I hope not.)
