[apnic-talk] APIDT Process for sale of IPv4 address space
Dear colleagues,
The Asia Pacific Internet Development Trust (APIDT) today released
information on the process for the sale of its IPv4 address holdings
(43/9, 43.128/10, and 43.192/11).
The Trust intends to sell the address blocks in three separate stages
via a ‘Sale by Tender’ process. This method was chosen to maximise the
return to the Trust to fund development activities, and to ensure the
opportunity to participate in the sale was open to multiple
organisations.
In each stage, the block of address space being sold will be subdivided
into smaller blocks. Tenders may be submitted for one or more (or all)
of those blocks in each stage.
Stage 1: 43/9 Block Size: /12 Number of blocks: 8
Stage 2: 43.128/10 Block Size: /14 Number of blocks: 16
Stage 3: 43.192/11 Block Size: /16 Number of blocks: 32
Stage 1 will open for tenders on 25 May 2020, and will close on 22 June
2020. Successful tenders will be shortlisted by 6 July 2020 and it is
expected that transfers will be completed around 20 July 2020.
The official Request for Tender document and IPv4 Transfer Agreement
contract will be released on 25 May 2020.
Stages 2 and 3 will follow Stage 1, with dates to be announced in due
course.
International consulting firm, KPMG, and legal firm, Maddocks, were
commissioned to advise APIDT in the design the sale process.
