Dear Skeeve and all,
I would like to let you know that you can now install APNIC certificates with Chrome in the following operating systems that we have tested.
- Windows 7
- Windows 8 and 8.1
- Windows XP
- OS X 10.10
- OS X 10.9
- Debian 8
- Android
An installation guide for Chrome broswer is available here for your reference.
http://www.apnic.net/cert-install-guide
We note that during our test in iOS, the certification installation is not possible with Chrome. This appears to be the design of iOS & Chrome.
If you have any other problems with certification installation, please do let us know.
George

Hi Skeeve,
Thanks for your messages on this yesterday. I want to apologise for the
frustration you and other have had with downloading certificates for
Chrome when accessing MyAPNIC.
You are right. I am sorry this has taken so long. It is something we
have had on our list to fix for some time, but other priorities have
kept pushing it down the roadmap and meant resources haven’t been
allocated to fixing it.
But it has been too long, and we need to fix it now. So development
resources are being adjusted to make this a priority, and we think we
can have this work completed by June 26th. We’ll make an announcement
on APNIC Talk when it’s done.
Related to this is another project we have been working on and that’s
browser independent, TOTP authentication as an alternative to
certificates. This was inspired by certificate compatibility issues
that have been experienced with various browsers. We are making good
progress on this project and we plan to release it by APNIC 40.
The aim is to make it as easy as possible for Members to authenticate
with MyAPNIC without having to worry about which browser they are using.
Again, we’ll announce when this is available.
Thanks again for raising this, and I hope the successful completion of
these initiatives will mean this issue does not trouble you and other
APNIC Members again.
Kind regards
George

Thanks Paul. To be fair however... I think I raised this issue a
year... or two ago. How long it has taken to support the world most
popular browser, isn't really acceptable.

I do not want importing/exporting into different browsers. Some

I manage a couple of dozen APNIC memberships, and this is
crazy...
Myapnic was designed/upgraded for this purpose, but voting/etc
with dozens
of keys loaded is also a nightmare. This needs to be fixed.

The current work around to export from Firefox or IE and
Import the cert
into Chrome is pretty painless, imho.
Does anyone know the back-ground as to why it's not
supported or possible?
- it seems to be a common theme with Chrome and similar cert
based auth
sites.
Is it worth APNICs development dollars?

Hi all,
It has been a long long time. When will Digital

supported in Chrome on myAPNIC?
I still see: Error: certificate enrolment is not
supported for your
browser.
Chrome has nearly 50% of the world browser market with
the next being IE
(all versions) at 22% and Firefox at 16%.
Can someone pull their finger out and make Chrome a
priority.
