Dear Johny, I also trust individuals and professional
bodies and my opening remarks to this debate confirm it but the enlightenment
lies in far-sightedness and reforming incumbency by addressing of all the
possible concerns. Hope, you are not against accommodating
"view-points". In true democracy, the worst of the opponent is
motivated to have his say; he is allowed to see the processes and not pushed
away by the phrases like "trust" or "conflict of interest".
If we want to be an enlightened organisation,
we shall not hesitate in surfacing issues/concerns. Yours, that matter,
everybody's help in this regard wud be highly appreciated. Regards and best wishes Naresh Ajwani -----Original Message----- On Mar 9, 2010, at 10:40 AM, Naresh Ajwani

in current EC structure. But being on the EC is not about
"representation". It is
about acting in
the best interests of APNIC and the APNIC community as a whole. It
is
not about representing a specific region or member organisation. (You had quoted the roles and
responsibilities of an EC member in your
original
post so you should be aware of this). A large part of being a Director on any Board
(EC included) is understanding
conflict of interest - and exercising good and proper judgement
when it does, or could be perceived to arise. I completely trust
the current EC in this regard. Cheers, Jonny.
