Hotels close to Grand Hyatt are follows:
The Crowne Plaza 2.1Km to the venue
Beijing Prime Hotel 2.75km to the venue
Beijing Hotel 1.62Km to the venue
Capital Hotel 1.29Km to the venue
Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing 1.13km to the venue
Novotel Peace Beijing 1.29Km to the venue
North Garden Hotel 0.81Km to the venue
Sunworld Hotel Beijing 1.78Km to the venue
Those hotels are all within walking distance. However if you want to take
taxi, it will take 10RMB ($1.45USD) only.
About visa, there are three types of visa: business visa, tourist visa and
visa for journalist. Some time tourist visa is the easier one to get but not
in everywhere.
For your note, CNNIC choose Grand Hyatt as the venue is because that it is
one of few hotels that can meet the meeting room requirement for APNIC
meeting with 250 - 300 delegates. And we also take the consideration of
convenience for delegates to get to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City
(within walking distance). I am sure those are the places most people
definitely want to go. :)
