[apnic-talk] [Apnic-announce] Document update: Policies forhistorical In
APNIC seeks final editorial comments on the following draft policy
document:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
* Policies for historical Internet resources in the APNIC Whois
Database
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This draft gathers all policies that apply to historical Internet
resources into a single document.
The draft document, which is now provisionally active, is available at:
http://www.apnic.net/docs/drafts/draft-historical-resource-policies.txt
The document includes two new policy proposals that were adopted by
consensus at APNIC 17 and approved by the Executive Council on 14 May
2004:
- The protection of historical Internet resource records in the
APNIC Whois Database [prop-018-v001]
- The recovery of unused historical address space [prop-017-v001]
Details of the original proposals and links to discussions are available
at:
http://www.apnic.net/docs/policy/proposals/prop-017-v001.html
http://www.apnic.net/docs/policy/proposals/prop-018-v001.html
The document also integrates two existing policies:
- The "No Questions Asked" prefix return policy (previously
documented in APNIC-072)
- Policies for the transfer of historical Internet resources
(previously documented in APNIC-113)
Nature of the document review
-----------------------------
This is an editorial review only. The APNIC community has already reached
consensus on the policy issues which are to implemented.
Therefore, during the comment period, interested parties may:
- object to the draft document on the grounds that it does not
properly reflect the consensus decision reached in the Policy
Review Process;
- suggest improvements of any aspect of the document;
- request that an additional call for comment be made to allow
more consideration of substantial revisions.
Deadline for comments
-------------------
Your comments are requested by 14 January 2004. Please send your
comments to the sig-db mailing list. Details at:
