Yesterday's Routing SIG meeting was saw presentations from Bill Woodcock
about the INOC-DBA project, Randy Bush about research work on Route Flaps,
Geoff Huston on the Free Space Route Server, Sanjaya on the APNIC Routing
Registry, and from me, closing the meeting with an RPSLng status report and
Internet Routing Table update.
We also discussed the Routing SIG Charter. The charter we agreed to after
some discussion at the meeting is the following:
"The Routing SIG examines important issues of Internet routing and policy
in the AsiaPacific region and globally. These issues would include Internet
routing table growth, de-aggregation of provider blocks, routing stability
and flap damping, routing security, and the Internet
Routing Registry."
Please send your comments either directly to me, or the list, on whether
you consider this an appropriate charter, or otherwise. If there are no
comments by the 14th of March, I'll assume that the above charter is
appropriate for this SIG and recommend it to APNIC.
Finally, following on from the call I issued on the 26th of November 2002,
we discussed the appointment of a co-chair for this SIG. There was one
volunteer present at the meeting, Randy Bush of IIJ. I proposed that Randy
become the co-chair for the Routing SIG, to which the meeting agreed. If
there are any comments about this proposed appointment, or any other
volunteers for the position of co-chair, please let me know before the 14th
of March. As a reminder, the responsibilities of a SIG chair are documented
at http://www.apnic.net/meetings/archive/sigs/sig-chair-guide.pdf.
Thank you again to all the participants at the Routing SIG, hope to see you
at the next APNIC meeting.
