15th APNIC Open Policy Meeting
24-28 February 2003
Taipei, Taiwan
Dear APNIC members and friends,
APNIC 15, which is being held in conjunction with APRICOT 2003, is now
only a little over two weeks away. If you have not registered yet please
do so as soon as possible as the early bird registration rate ends
tomorrow, see details below. Registration for the preconference
workshops also closes tomorrow.
As usual APNIC's Open Policy Meeting will form one of the conference and
tutorial "tracks" within the APRICOT 2003 programme. For the first time
APRICOT also incorporates the Global IPv6 Summit and the Asia Pacific
Security Incident Response Coordination (APSIRC) conference, making the
programme the most extensive ever offered.

1. EARLY BIRD CLOSING

To take advantage of the 25 percent early bird discount please register
by 7 February 2003. No further extension will be made. APNIC members are
also entitled to an additional 25 percent discount, making the meeting
very good value for money. To receive the correct rate members should
select the "APNIC Member" option on the opening menu and supply their
APNIC account name. If you do not know you account name email us at

2. PRECONFERENCE WORKSHOP REGISTRATION CLOSING

The final date for registration for preconference workshops is Friday 7
February 2003. Details of the workshops are available from the APRICOT

3. NOMINATIONS FOR EXECUTIVE COUNCIL
-------------------------------------
This is a reminder that nominations of individuals from the Asia Pacific
region to fill four positions on the Executive Council must be submitted
to APNIC by the close of business, Friday 14 February 2003. The
selection process will involve an open election to be held during the
APNIC Member Meeting, in Taipei on 28 February 2003. Nominations must be
made using the online nomination form available at:

If you are not able to attend the AMM, you can still make your vote
count, by appointing a proxy to represent you at the meeting. Proxy

4. HOSTMASTER CONSULTATION BOOKINGS NOW OPEN

APNIC Hostmasters will be available during APNIC 15 to meet with APNIC
members to discuss issues relating to resource requests and
registrations. Bookings for Hostmaster consultations are now open and
should be made as soon as possible. A schedule of the available
Hostmaster consultations and the online registration form are available

6. APNIC SOCIAL EVENT

The APNIC social event is being held at the historic Red House Theater
in the Hsimen district of Taipei, a vibrant shopping and market
precinct. All delegates are invited to attend the social, which is free
of charge. It will be held on Wednesday evening, 26 February 2003. To
