Dear Colleague,
As you may know, the combined boards of the three Regional Internet
Registries, including the Executive Council of APNIC, recently released
a statement on ICANN reform. This was submitted to ICANN during June
2002, and is available for review on the APNIC website, at:
http://www.apnic.net/icann/rir-statement
Since the acceptance by the ICANN Board of the "Blueprint of Reform",
the RIR boards are now considering a further response, including a
statement of future direction.
APNIC members and others in the Asia Pacific region are strongly
encouraged to provide their inputs to the APNIC EC, for consideration
during this process. As the RIR boards intend to finalise the next
submission before the ICANN meetings in Shanghai (27 to 31 October),
comments should be submitted as soon as possible, preferably before 1
September 2002.
