[apnic-talk] Call for CATV/xDSL WG members
Establishment of the APNIC "CATV & xDSL assignment guideline"
working group and call for its members
2001.1.11

Takashi Arano
Here we are happy to announce to establish a new working group,
"CATV & xDSL assignment guideline" working group, according to
the consensus formed in the previous APNIC address policy SIG
at Brisbane. The purpose of this WG is to develop a new guideline
which describes how to assign IP addresses in CATV and xDSL environments.
The guideline should be challenged by the community and refined through
one or some APNIC policy meetings, and after authorized in an APNIC
general meeting, it will be applied for all IRs in the AP region.
Note that guidelines describe APNIC policy but are not included
in the current "policy document" which is more stable and needs three
months after the formal decision to be effective.
Considering the nature of the address policy SIG, we believe this
working group should be open to everyone. So here we call for
the working group members to the public. Any indivisual who
is interested in this guideline and who would like to contribute
AP region's policy development is welcome. Please send a mail to
arano at byd.ocn dot ad dot jp by Jan. 20, 2001 with your brief self-introduction.
The working group will try to bring some preliminary results to
the next policy SIG at Kuala Lumpur. Discussion will be proceeded
mainly by mails and possibly in (a) face-to-face meeting(s).
We look forward to discuss this issue with you. Thank you.
