APNIC and RIPE are often compared to be similar.
It should be noted that RIPE appears to have a broader
view and deals with DNS and TLD issues.

Ultimately, IP address allocation issues come back to the
DNS because of the IN-ADDR.ARPA zone. With the
introduction of ARIN into the industry <http://www.arin.net>
and the changes proposed by the U.S. Government, people
involved with APNIC may want to become more involved
in what happens to the .ARPA Top Level Domain.
