17th APNIC Open Policy Meeting
23-27 February 2004
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Dear APNIC members and friends,
It is our pleasure to invite you to attend APNIC's 17th Open Policy Meeting,
being held in conjunction with APRICOT 2004 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from
23 to 27 February 2004.
As usual, the APNIC Open Policy Meeting will be one of the tracks within
APRICOT. APNIC 17 will include APNIC training, an Internet Routing Registry
(IRR) tutorial, Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings, APNIC Member Meeting
(AMM) and the APNIC social event. A draft schedule is available at:

APNIC 17/APRICOT 2004 will be held at the Palace of the Golden Horses in the
Mines Resort City in Kuala Lumpur and will be hosted by the Association of
the Computer and Multimedia Industry of Malaysia (PIKOM). The conference is
expected to attract a wide range of delegates from the Asia Pacific region
and the rest of the world. The programme includes:
Workshops 18 - 22 February
Tutorials 23 - 24 February
Conference 25 - 26 February
APNIC Member Meeting 27 February

Interested organisations are invited to sponsor APNIC 17. In return for
their support, sponsors will be presented with valuable opportunities to
expose their organisation, products, and services to an international
audience of Internet leaders. Details of sponsorship options are available

2. Call for proposals

The SIGs are open fora at APNIC Open Policy Meetings during which technical,
policy and operational issues relating to the management of Internet
Resources within the Asia Pacific region are discussed.
The SIG Chairs will issue calls for proposals to the SIG mailing lists
shortly, inviting anyone interested to submit an Informational (I) or Policy
(P) proposal for discussion at the SIGs. Details of discussions held at
previous SIGs can be accessed from the SIG archive at:
