APNIC Open Policy Meeting
Brisbane, Australia
October 25-27th, 2000
Call For Presentations for the IPv6 SIG
16:00 -- 17:30, Oct 25 (Wed), 2000
Akira Kato
IPv6 SIG Chair
During the APNIC Open Policy Meeting, we would like to hold an IPv6 SIG
session in the afternoon of October 25th. The SIG is an open forum to
discuss various issues regarding IPv6 and to exchange experiences among
those who are interested in IPv6.
One of the most serious issues we have is the IPv6 address allocation
guidelines. It will be discussed in a separate session of the policy
SIG. For those who have any opinions/comments on the current draft
of the guidelines,
- submit your comments to IPv6 SIG mailing list,
sig-ipv6 at lists dot apnic dot net, as soon as possible
- plan to join the policy SIG (Oct 26th and 27th) as well
as IPv6 SIG session
This e-mail is a request for contributions. I'm looking for presentations
of relevance from anyone who is interested in IPv6 issues.
Topics I would like to explore this time around might include, but are not
limited to:
- Operational updates
- IPv6 applications
- IPv6 deployment plans and experiences
- Address registries issues including allocation status of each sTLA
maintainer
- IPv6 routing issues
- Multihoming issues
- Advanced technical issues including multicasting and unicasting
- Business plans for ISP/ASP (advertisement-purpose presentations
are not welcome)
If you would like to take part in this SIG with a presentation, please
send your proposal to kato at wide dot ad dot jp, cc'ing sig at apnic dot net. Proposals
should be sent no later than the 10th of September, 2000.
As IPv6 is a little bit premature in the deployment status, even informal
presentations with a few viewgraphs are welcome as well as formal
presentations.
The proposal should include
- Name, Affiliation
- Tentative presentation title (may be modified later)
- The time required for the presentation (5min through 30min)
Unless there are too many applications for presentations to fit in the
session slot, I would like to accept all of the applications.
The tentative schedule is
10th September - Proposal deadline
22nd September - Presentation paper sent to 'apnic-talk'
26/27th October - Presentation of paper at SIG
Comments are welcome and appreciated.
