Call For Presentations in the Address Policy SIG:

The Address Policy SIG will be held in Seoul on March 2, 2000
during the APRICOT week. This policy SIG is an open address
policy forum for Asia-Pacific region, coordinated by APNIC in
accordance with the ASO MoU among ICANN and three RIRs.
In order to make the address policy SIG as open as possible,
the SIG is going to give an opportunity to people from Asia-Pacific
area to raise any address policy issue. The SIG is actively
seeking presentations from all of you from the Asia-Pacific
region.
The issue you are going to talk about should have some relevance to
address policy, related or not-related to the topics that
APNIC has already raised, such as:
- Resource Leasing
- Minimum IP allocation size
- The future of ISP confederations
- Use of network 61
- Use of HTTP/1.1 and virtual web sites
- Registration of "self-assignments" (ISP infrastructure)
- Maximum assignment window size
- Provider-Independent allocations, and
- Special assignments for "essential" infrastructure.
If you would like to join us in the SIG, send your proposal
to <arano at nic dot ad dot jp>, cc-ing to <sig at apnic dot net>.
Proposals should be sent no later than January 17th, 2000.
Proposal Requirements
The proposal:
- should be related to address policy,
- should be within 250-500 words, and
- should describe your perspective on the topic including its
pros/cons from various aspects.
The tentative schedule is:
Jan. 17, 2000 proposal deadline
Jan. 24, 2000 notification of acceptance
Feb. 7, 2000 presentation outline due to be submitted to apnic-talk
Mar. 2, 2000 Address Policy SIG
