APNIC existance endangered.
Hi,
As you know, APNIC is undergoing a rather large set of transitions in the
near future, namely:
a) moving its headquarters to a new country
b) looking for a new director general
c) electing 3 new executive council members
With respect to the last, a call for nominations went out on Jan 6, 1998
and to date, there have been zero (0) responses or nominations.
Given the Executive Council will play a key role in the upcoming
transitions, it is CRITICAL that people willing and able to participate
_actively_ fill the three seats. Failure to do so will obviously have a
negative impact on APNIC, to the point that APNIC could cease to function.
I feel this would be unfortunate.
I forward the call for nominations again in the hope there will be some
response. I have set up a specific mailing address:
APNIC Executive Council Nominations <exec-nominations at apnic dot net>
in order to facilitate the nomination process.
Regards,
-drc
