For those who took an interest in the presentation on “Public Safety
and Accuracy of IP Address WHOIS” which was given at APNIC 42 in
Colombo, there has been a similar presentation today at the RIPE 73
meeting in Madrid. In this case a much more detailed case study was
given, to show the concerns of the law enforcement community.

discussions during the Policy Development Working Group (PDWG) session

- AFPUB-2016-V4-003-DRAFT02: IPv4 Resources Transfer within the
AFRINIC region

This proposal aims to solve the issue around enabling African
organisations to receive IPv4 addresses even after IPv4 pool
exhaustion or when AFRINIC can no longer satisfy the needs of
such organisations.

- AFPUB-2016-GEN-002-DRAFT-01: Inbound Transfers Policy

This proposal covers the inbound transfer of all resources from
other RIRs to the AFRINIC service region. While the community has
voiced concerns that enacting a transfer policy will result in the
flow of resources off the continent, this policy addresses that by
purely catering for inbound transfers.

AFRINIC

This proposal gives AFRINIC authority to conduct regular reviews/
audits of resource utilisation to ensure efficient and appropriate
use of resources. It allows for recovery of any type of resource
where usage is not in compliance with the RSA or policy.

This proposal aims at introducing some provisions to the current
soft landing policy to cater for reserving space to critical
infrastructure, making a provision for late requesters and
stipulating an IPv6 requirement for any company that requests space
from the last /8.

This proposal aims at maintaining the needs-based approach to
issuing IPv4 space (by completely removing the current IPv4 Soft
