As I've said in my workshops I think you need to build a community and
the easiest ways of doing that is asking questions and supplying answers
to a list like this as well as having the odd casual get together. The
latter doesn't need to be formal, have an agenda, or anything like that,
just a catch up after work will do. Trying to host something yourself
too early will just turn into a distraction and potentially burn out the
people involved. Also I think you also need to drive anything you do
from inside of PNG. You know the issues better than anyone else and if
you're in the driving seat then you can address those issues rather than
get side tracked by stuff that might be of interest to outsiders but
isn't of much interest to you.
Also you need to be inclusive. If someone shows any interest then drag
them in :-) I get the impression that some managers treat knowledge as a
state secret but that's not helping anyone in the long term.
Just my K2 worth :-)
Mark.

Welcome to PNGNOG.
Thank you for accepting the invitation.
Please do share your ideas on what can we do with PNGNOG & how we can
improve PNGNOG.
E.g.: PNGNOG hosted trainings / workshops - in what network areas do
you think PNG needs more training in.
You can share to your friends the link
https://mailman.apnic.net/mailman/listinfo/pngnog so others (R&E
networks, ISPs, Telcos, Regulator, IXPs, employees/members, etc) can
subscribe to PNGNOG mailing list too.
Please share ideas.
