Hi All,
Happy holidays in advance!
Before we wrap up the year, wanted to share the new “APNIC Community Trainers on a retainer” program -
https://apnic.bamboohr.com/jobs/view.php?id=75&source=apnic
This is different to the volunteer community trainers program that we run -
https://training.apnic.net/community-trainers/, which is purely on a voluntary basis and APNIC compensates you for your time, while assisting with our trainers. As you can see, we only have 3 from
the Pacific.
How does the “retainer” program differ from the voluntary one?
The retainer model targets those community champs or techies who might be free lancing (or without a full time commitment), to help with things like:
-
Training and technical assistance needs assessment in your specific economy or sub-region,
-
Help with content development or validation,
-
Help promote APNIC services and interface with the local community,
-
Help with training event logistics (venues, catering, promotion),
-
Help assist as co-trainers or lead trainings in the local economy
For now, we are looking at piloting it in six identified economies: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Philippines, and Papua New Guinea.
-
Folks need to be locally based in these economies to be eligible for this role, and
-
We would need a minimum of 10-days a month commitment for this role (please do not include your weekends off as time available for this role!)
Request your help to spread the word within your networks, and if you are not in a full time job, please check the details to see if you would be keen to apply yourself.
Thanks and stay safe over the holidays!
