Dear Network Operators, Its been a while since Ive posted updates on
the mailing list. I would like to provide a short update on the Network
Coded TCP project that we have implemented in the Cook Islands, Niue and
Tuvalu. Even though the deployments were successful, we learned lots of
valuable lessons from issues with TCP and high latency satellite links.
The
team at the University of Auckland, MIT in the U.S and the University
of Alborg in Denmark wrote a paper on our experiences and the
improvements that we have gained with NCTCP. This has been accepted at
NetCod 15 and I will post a link to this when it is available at our
website.
We are also currently looking for a country to
perform our last deployment. One of the things we wanted to better
understand is queue oscillation and NCTCP. If there is ISP out there
that uses O3B or GEO with large amount of bandwidth, please email me
offlist.
