Techs-In-Paradise is a gathering of academic and research networking
professionals, joining Internet2/ESCC Joint Techs and APAN at a joint
meeting in Honolulu. It would be great to have participation from
colleagues in the Pacific.

TIP2013: Call for Participation
Colleagues,
Once again, the APAN <http://apan.net/> and Joint Techs
<http://www.internet2.edu/jt/> meetings will converge in Honolulu to
form the *Techs in Paradise (TIP) 2013
<http://events.internet2.edu/2013/tip/>*conference, hosted by the
University of Hawaii <http://www.uhm.hawaii.edu/>. By bringing these
meetings together into one location, TIP 2013 encourages greater global
dialogue, facilitates technical collaboration across the Pacific and
provides an important discussion forum for issues of concern to R&E
network stakeholders in this region of the world. The meeting will take
place from January 13 – 16, 2013.
To ensure a dynamic and thought-provoking program, planning is already
underway. We are currently inviting abstract proposals for: a) full or
"lightning round" presentations, b) tutorials (90-minute, 1/2-day and
full-day), c) lunchtime meetings (SIGs, BoFs and Working Groups), d)
posters and e) co-located meetings and workshops. TIP2013 will include
two (2) concurrent netcast sessions and, if possible, a third (smaller
non-taped) session to increase the number of talks, papers, posters, and
side meetings available and expand the opportunities for dialogue across
the communities.
The following topics have been identified as being of particular
interest, although proposals in other areas relating to research and
education networking are also invited:
*Network Research and Emerging Technologies* (including Software Defined
Networking / OpenFlow; Security in R&E Networking; Network Performance
and Measurement; and "Future Internet")
*Network Architecture and Operations* (including 100G implementation
experiences; IPv6; Network performance and utilization; R&E network
infrastructure and connectivity updates; and Pacific Islands connectivity)
*R&E Network Applications* (including Astronomy; Ocean observatories;
Climate and environment; Disaster management; e-Medicine and e-Health;
e-Culture and performance; Global collaboration; and e-Learning)
Please submit your abstract for review by *September 14, 2012* using the
link at http://events.internet2.edu/2013/tip/focus-areas.cfm. Abstracts
must include collaborators or intended demonstrations. Submissions will
be judged by a formal program committee process based on relevance to
posted focus areas and audience areas of interest.
*Registration* for TIP2013 will be announced in Septmber; information on
the *conference hotel* will be announced as soon as it is posted.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email
tip2013-questions(a)internet2.edu <mailto:tip2013-questions@internet2.edu>
or visit the meeting website at: http://events.internet2.edu/2013/tip/
We look forward to hearing from you!

Global IPv6 Deployment Survey Extended
________________________________________________________________________
Hi PACNOG Community,
The 2012 Global IPv6 Deployment Survey has been extended to Friday, 13
July. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey at:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GlobalIPv6survey2012
The purpose of the survey is to better understand what can be done to
increase IPv6 adoption in the Asia Pacific region and worldwide. The
findings from the 2012 survey will be compared to previous years to give
a perspective on regional and global progress.
The results will be presented and discussed widely. Please provide your
name and contact information on the survey form if you wish to receive
the draft survey analysis when available. Please also indicate whether
you are willing to share additional data with the TNO and GNKS Consult
IPv6 Deployment Monitoring team.
We appreciate your time and interest in completing this survey. If you
have any questions concerning the survey, please send an email to:
info(a)gnksconsult.com

Hi All,
I'm trying to understand the APNIC policy on IPv4 Delegation. It states if
you have received the maximum /22 you are not eligible to apply for more
IPv4 address space.
http://www.apnic.net/policy/add-manage-policy#delegations
Are there any specific criterias or situation that overides this?
Any assistance from the list will be appreciated
thks

This is an automated weekly mailing describing the state of the Internet
Routing Table as seen from APNIC's router in Japan.
The posting is sent to APOPS, NANOG, AfNOG, AusNOG, SANOG, PacNOG, LacNOG,

End of report
Just in case others were wondering also (Thanks Alan!),
this was stuck in a mail queue for over three months.
I sent it:

It looks like it may've been the mail queue on my side:

I might need your expertise on these ip addresses that looks like they are using up our bandwidth if you know these unknown ips;
109.123.106.250
87.106.240.
109.123.106.250
82.165.143.243

82.165.143.242

You can get more information on the owner of the IP's by performing a whois, my favourite tool is http://www.domainwhitepages.com/ but you can also use the whois search from the APNIC website at http://www.apnic.net/
---------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------
If you don't find the IP address on APNIC's WHOIS server, it may tell
you to goto another one, such as ARIN if the IP address is registered
there. ARIN's WHOIS lookup is at arin.net. Europe is at ripe.net.
These may be from services your customers are accessing, so be
careful about what you block or you might get calls to your company
by your customers.
