DEADLINE EXTENDED UNTIL MONDAY, 5 JANUARY.
Dear Colleagues,
The Internet Society has announced that it is seeking applications
for the next round of the ISOC Fellowship to the IETF program. The
program offers engineers from developing countries fellowships that
fund the cost of attending an Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF)
meeting.
As you know, the IETF is the Internet's premier standards-making
body, responsible for the development of protocols used in IP-based
networks. IETF participants represent an international community of
network designers, operators, vendors, and researchers involved in
the technical operation of the Internet and the continuing evolution
of Internet architecture.
Fellowships will be awarded through a competitive application
process. The Internet Society is currently accepting fellowship
applications for the next two IETF meetings:
* IETF 74 being held in San Francisco, USA, 22 - 27 March 2009
* IETF 75 being held in Stockholm, Sweden, 26 -31 July 2009
Up to five fellowships will be awarded for each IETF meeting.
Full details on the ISOC Fellowship to the IETF, including how to
apply, are located on the ISOC website at :
http://www.isoc.org/educpillar/fellowship
Fellowship applications for both IETF meetings are due by 5 January
2009.
The Internet Society formally launched the ISOC Fellowship to the
IETF program in January 2007 after successfully piloting the program
during 2006 at IETF 66 in Montreal and IETF 67 in San Diego. Thirty six
individuals from 25 countries have participated in the program since
its inception.
I encourage you to pass information about this program to individuals
involved in your regional operators' groups that have a keen interest
in the Internet standardisation activities of the IETF. You also may
consider being a reference for the applicant.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact Connie Kendig
<kendig(a)isoc.org> or Mirjam Kuehne <mir(a)isoc.org>.
Kind Regards,

Member Survey 2009 - Have Your Say!
_______________________________________________________________________
Hi PACNOG Community,
APNIC will be conducting a member and stakeholder survey from 8 December
2008 to 9 January 2008 to assess the performance and development of
APNIC.
As a valued stakeholder in the Asia Pacific region, your opinion helps
shape the future direction of APNIC therefore, on behalf of APNIC, I
would to personally invite you to participate in this survey.
The survey is conducted in three parts:
- an assessment of APNIC performance,
- where APNIC member revenue should be invested, and
- IPv6 readiness in the Asia Pacific region.
The survey is conducted independently by KPMG and the process is
entirely neutral, guaranteeing the highest quality result.
The feedback from the survey will directly inform APNIC activities so we
strongly encourage you to participate. The survey should take you no
more than 20 minutes to complete and is open to all stakeholders
(members and non-members).
Those who complete the survey will be in the draw to win:
- one of two ASUS Eee PCs, or
- an iphone.
For more information on how you can participate in the survey visit:
http://www.apnic.net/survey/2009
Kind regards,
Elly
