We received the following email today from our upstream (in India): > Our transit traffic partners have reported multiple sub-sea cable > damages on the Atlantic route towards Europe and US east coast. Users > might face additional latency and occasional packet loss towards these > destinations. > > Our partners are working with relevant authorities and cable sea > companies for restoration and will take few days to address it. We > will inform as soon as this is resolved. Inconvenience caused is > highly regretted. I've read about cable cuts due to the Tonga volcanic eruption, but the above as "multiple cable damages" is mentioned as in the Atlantic. Does anyone know more about this? A news search for "cable cuts" didn't bring up anything aside from the Tonga story. Mukund

Connections 2022 - A post-IETF 113 Forum

Hi, India Internet Engineering Society (IIESoc) & Industry Network Technology Council (INTC) will be organizing the 5th iteration of Connections as a joint India-US fully online event on April 2-8 2022. This iteration will also be a fully online free event in close collaboration between IIESoc & INTC. Spoofer Report for INNOG for Feb 2022

In response to feedback from operational security communities, CAIDA's source address validation measurement project (https://spoofer.caida.org) is automatically generating monthly reports of ASes originating prefixes in BGP for systems from which we received packets with a spoofed source address. We are publishing these reports to network and security operations lists in order to ensure this information reaches operational contacts in these ASes. APNIC is offering a limited number of fellowships to participate in an online, structured program that will run over five months, and to participate in the APNIC 54 conference. Fellows will also have the opportunity to be matched with a community mentor for a one-on-one mentoring session. Areas of interest ----------------- Successful fellows will select a specific area of interest to focus their online learning, as well as getting an holistic overview of APNIC and Internet governance before participating in APNIC 54. - IPv6 Deployment - Internet Routing/RPKI - Information/Network Security - DNS/DNSSEC - MPLS/SDN The level of experience in the chosen area of interest can be from beginner to advanced.
