Dear Team,
Mr George Michaelson , in his blog , https://blog.apnic.net/2021/12/17/the-space-between-ipv6-allocations-part-2/ , mentioned that APNIC has changed the block based allocation method to delegations for NIRs (when and why was not mentioned in the blog).
As per my understanding, it’s like APNIC used to allocate big IPV6 block to NIR (for further allocation to its members) which has now been changed to direct delegations to members instead of NIR.
A big block to NIR can help in super netting the v6 announcement at NIR (or at country level) , which can help in reducing the routing table size in long terms AND can also have IPv6 allocations in consecutive order for the economies where we have NIRs.
APNIC still allots ASN block to NIRs for further allocation to NIR members.
So my question is what leads to change in IPv6 allocation method for NIRs ??

Does anybody know who I can reach out to for the following issue?
My freshly allocated prefix (*103.176.189.0/24 <http://103.176.189.0/24>) *is
unable to communicate with Reliance Jio's VoWiFi end-point on AS55836. And
hence my Jio numbers are unable to work with VoWiFi when the source IPv4
address is originating from 103.176.189.0/24.

CAIDA's source address validation measurement project
(https://spoofer.caida.org) is automatically generating monthly
reports of ASes originating prefixes in BGP for systems from which
we received packets with a spoofed source address.
We are publishing these reports to network and security operations
lists in order to ensure this information reaches operational
contacts in these ASes.

Hello folks,
Anyone here running a cable tv network besides being an ISP? I recently saw
some optical to RF converter nodes hanging around in the city. Couldn't
take a picture but a quick search leads to me something like this

This seems fascinating and I see videos of cable TV players on YouTube
using these optical to RF converters before their set-top box.
Wondering how these work without power (as advertised)? Is there enough
power going "outwards" in a regular cable TV set-top box to power the
photoreceivers in these adapters? In the case of DTH boxes, they send 30V
(and some minor Amps) to dish on the rooftop to power the LNB. Is the case
in the cable tv world as well? If not, how can one have electrical RF
output without any concept of reverse power?
