The goal of the ICANN Fellowship Program is to strengthen the diversity of the multistakeholder model by fostering opportunities for individuals from underserved and underrepresented communities to become active participants in the ICANN community.
Fellows are exposed to the workings of the ICANN community, are assigned a mentor, and receive training across different areas of knowledge and skill building before, during, and after an ICANN Public Meeting. Travel assistance to attend the meeting is also provided.
Kind regards,
I agree with you Mili,There are many ways to be engaged with ICANN and to be equipped to be in the leadership position for young APAC women.I advice members of this group to take this free online course to understand and develop a background about ICANN and its complex structure through the newcomer course atFrom the same platform there are many other courses and resources.I also encourage APAC community to sign in for APAC ICANN monthly newsletter and/or follow ICANN social media platforms on FB or Twitter. But that doesn't mean I wanted to discourage those who are fully engaged in politics in the Internet ecosystem to consider their suitability for the 5 different areas of ICANN positions to be appointed by the NomCom.Best wishes,NadiraOn Sun, Jan 13, 2019, 07:11 Mili <milisemlani@gmail.com wrote:Thanks for sharing the criteria Nadia. We also need to encourage more engaged participation from APAC women at ICANN and we have so much to learn from leaders like Maureen ... specially younger women joining the processes.—With gratitudeMili SemlaniWhile we’re on the subject of board members, nominations to the APNIC EC is now open too, until 12 February 2019.
