[Wg-ipv6-guide] IPv6 Guidelines document - status

Dear WG chairs,

Just a quick note to let you know the status of the editing of the IPv6 
Guidelines document.
We have currently just completed a first draft edit. This is currently 
going through a review. With the Easter holidays coming up here, it may 
take a little longer to complete the review than anticipated.

I also have a query regarding the section on 'Existing IPv4 
infrastructure'. At the recent APNIC Open Policy meeting there was 
consensus on the proposal :

to make more explicit the use of IPv4 infrastructure for organisations 
applying for IPv6 address space.  This proposal is currently subject to 
review (until May 3rd) and will then be put to the EC for their 
endorsement.   I presume you wish to release this document earlier? My 
question is - do you wish the Secretariat to include references to this 
proposal in the guidelines. I think it makes sense and I do expect the 
proposal to be approved.

One other thing - we have removed the section pertaining to the APNIC whois 
database. The reason for this is that the database information will be 
somewhat duplicated by :

and section 5.3 LIR to ISP assignment of APNIC-089 and information in 
Section '5.5 Registration' of APNIC-089.

If you feel that information is lost by doing this, can I suggest that we 
look at updating existing database 'help' style documentation, rather than 
creating separate information.

Similarily the DNS info for IPv6 is covered by this guide:

If you feel there is information missing, I would strongly recommend we 
seek to update this guide rather than the 'IPv6 Guidelines document'.
