The US$ over the last few years has certainly done little to help the
fee burden on the APNIC membership, that's for sure.
If the majority of APNIC costs are in Australia, I'd have said that
using the (currently strong) AU$ would be most sensible.
The Euro would be my other offer as a possible option as a global traded
currency - while it is weak too compared with the AU$, at least it isn't
in the same dire straits as the US$ is.

As a bystander, it'd be AU$ for me.
(Although I'd be interested in a simple breakdown of domestic versus
intl costs that APNIC faces. If majority of cost is domestic, I'd say
AU$, if international, then maybe US$ or Euro should be the currency of
choice.)
