[sig-routing] Summary of Routing SIG meeting at APNIC 18

Hi,

For those of you unable to attend the APNIC 18 meeting in Nadi, here is a short summary of the Routing SIG.

Timothy Griffin opened proceedings with a presentation on "BGP Wedgies - bad routing policy interactions that cannot be debugged".

Randy Bush followed with a presentation on "Happy Packets: some initial results", and then gave a revised update on his "BGP is chattier than you think" presentation first heard at APNIC 16 in Seoul.

Philip Smith presented Gert Doering's IPv6 Routing Status Report, making its first appearance in the AP region. Gert normally presents this at RIPE meetings.

The meeting finished off with Geoff Huston presenting an analysis on the current state of the IPv4 routing table, and showing "BGP: The Movie".

If you are interested in any of the presentations, or want to see the session transcript, they are on the APNIC meeting website at http://www.apnic.net/meetings/18/programme/sigs/routing.html.

Finally, we would like to thank all the presenters for agreeing to participate in the Routing SIG. Each contribution was greatly appreciated.

If anyone is interested in offering content for the Routing SIG to take place at APNIC 19 during APRICOT 2005 in Kyoto, Japan, please do not hesitate to drop us an e-mail at sig-routing-chair@apnic.net.

Kind regards,

Philip Smith & Randy Bush
