APNIC 22 - Call for proposals
_____________________________

   22nd APNIC Open Policy Meeting
   4-8 September 2006
   Kaohsiung, Taiwan

Dear colleagues

Are you aware that APNIC meetings are changing format? APNIC 22 has an
innovative programme showcasing presentations on operational Internet
issues. Two new types of sessions will be added to the APNIC 22
programme on Wednesday 6 September 2006:

  * APOPS (Asia Pacific OPeratorS Forum)

Previously a BoF, APOPS will now showcase Internet operational
content of wide interest to the community. Most of Wednesday's
programme will consist of APOPs sessions.

  * Lightning talks

Lightning talks are a chance for the community to discuss Internet
issues and trends that emerge in the weeks before APNIC 22.

Policy proposals will be discussed in the appropriate SIG sessions on
Thursday 7 September 2006. Tutorials, Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions,
hostmaster consultations, the APNIC Member Meeting (AMM), and social
events will continue to be a part of the APNIC meeting programme.

  Programme summary:

  Monday 4 September Tutorials
  Tuesday 5 September Tutorials
Wednesday 6 September Plenary, APOPS, lightning talks, BoFs
  Thursday 7 September SIGs, BoFs
Friday 8 September APNIC Member Meeting

Call for presentations
----------------------

We invite you to submit proposals for presentations at APNIC 22. There
are two types of presentations:

- Policy proposal (P) A proposal which requires feedback and
community consensus before it can proceed.

- Informational (I) Typically a status report delivered to convey
                         information to the audience. Informational
presentations may presented in APOPS or SIG
                         sessions.

To submit a policy proposal before the 7 August 2006 deadline:

    1. Use the online form at:

         http://www.apnic.net/cgi-bin/policy_proposal.pl

    2. Send your proposal in TEXT format to the appropriate SIG chair,
CCing <sig@apnic.net>. Proposals will be forwarded to the
appropriate SIG mailing list by the Secretariat.

Proposals for informational presentations should be submitted in TEXT
format, preferably before 7 August 2006, to <program@apnic.net>.

The call for lightning talks will be made closer to APNIC 22.

SIG archives and guidelines for presenters, including useful
information, helpful hints, and sample presentation templates are
available at:

     http://www.apnic.net/meetings/archive/sigs/

Agenda slots will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis, so a
timely submission of your proposal and presentation abstract would be
welcome and to your advantage.

We look forward to seeing you in Kaohsiung!

Regards
