[sig-dns] ARIN, RIPE, ICANN, InternetWeek

I've gotten a bit behind in my reports. Since mid October there have been a couple of events (plus a vacation for me) that have kept me mostly on the road.

I have to admit - given all the jet fuel fumes I've been sniffing recently, my memory has already gotten a bit hazy on the details of the trips.

NANOG 41 - Oct 14-16

  Agenda, with archives: http://www.nanog.org/mtg-0710/agenda.html

  No major DNS issues.

ARIN XX - Oct 17-19

  Meeting report: http://www.arin.net/meetings/minutes/ARIN_XX/

Again, not much DNS material discussed.

CENTR Tech - Oct 21

I missed this due to a travel snafu, infact I didn't make it to RIPE either.

  Agenda: https://www.centr.org/main/meetings/3366-CTR.html?branch=1&language=1

The morning agenda was all WhoIs, and IPv6 in the afternoon. Not much
  DNS here either.

Maybe you need to be a member to access the archives.

RIPE 55 - Oct 22-26

  Report: https://www.ripe.net/ripe/meetings/ripe-55/presentations/index.html

I haven't reviewed the minutes yet, but there is a talk on Tuesday by
Richard Lamb on DNSSEC at IANA. There is a DNS-WG in RIPE, they met on
  both Wednesday and Thursday.

ICANN (#30?) Oct 29-Nov 2

  http://losangeles2007.icann.org/

There was quite a bit of DNSSEC talk, including this session that may
be of particular interest in the APNIC region:
  http://losangeles2007.icann.org/node/77
The title of the session is: DNSSEC In The Field: Asia-Pacific and IANA.

OARC 3rd DNS Workshop, Nov 2-3

  http://public.oarci.net/oarc/workshop-2007

  http://public.oarci.net/oarc/workshop-2007/agenda/

This is was all DNS...finally. But not too much with the reverse map.
Still, if there was one DNS event to attend all season, this was the one.

(Vacation from Nov 7-18...)

InternetWeek 2007 (Japan) Nov 19-22

I was asked to give a talk on "Managed DNS" and a BoF talk later on "An
IPv6 only DNS server in a TLD".

The conference is in Japanese, and my Japanese isn't so hot (okay, my
Japanese is barely existent), but here's a report on it.

  http://internetweek.jp/
(Proof I was on the agenda:
    https://internetweek.smartseminar.jp/public/session/view/2)

I don't know if the slides are available on the web site, as well as the
video shot. (Because I can't read Japanese!)

The second day was the JP-OPM (Open Policy Meeting). Although I could
guess the topics, I was unable to follow the very active and lively
discussion of the policies presented. I am sure some of the issues will
be brought to the APNIC meeting in Taiwan next February.

This week I am actually home. Next week is the IETF 70 meeting. And *that* should close out the calendar year of meetings for me.
