Benefits of being a co-chair? One, and maybe two FREE lunches during the APNIC meeting week. Okay, there's the free one all attendees get, but these are free ones for the chairs! How exciting is that?
More serious benefits include playing a greater personal role in the performance of the APNIC process. Participation in discussions on policies, help in arranging the content of meetings, all of this builds good experience in a broad audience arena.
Consider running for the co-chair position in February. Or wait and run for the chair position the February after that. Questions - ask on the list or send mail to me privately.
