The 16th meeting of the Technical Forum was held in Tallinn Estonia on May 6, the day before the RIPE 54th meeting in the same city. The meeting's web site is https://www.centr.org/meetings/tech-16/.
There were quite a few presentations and discussions related to DNS (unlike the previous ARIN meeting). The link above has the presentations given during the day, currently one is locked from public and one is missing. The missing one will be added sometime soon.
The first item is not DNS related but is worth mentioning to those on this list that may have to also deal with IANA (such as for changing nameservers). There is interest among some ccTLDs to make a statement to IANA about promised service levels (eg response times), the controversy over this is what and how, and whether there is meaning to such a document.
A second non-DNS presentation of interest was IDN experience in Greece - yet another angle on how difficult the topic is.
Almost all presentations dealt with DNS in some way, including a presentation on DDOS and how it is battled (given by me), other anycast services and measurements and monitoring, and DNSSEC. CENTR-Tech is attended by quite a few DNS administrators and system operators, people with current hands-on experience.
The meeting was a one day event. If there are further questions on the event, contact me and/or contact the presentation authors directly.
The 54th RIPE meeting is already underway - it'll take about another week before a summary for that will be prepared.
