20th APNIC Open Policy Meeting
Database SIG
8 September 2005, 14:00 - 15:30
Hanoi, Vietnam

Dear Colleagues,

The next Database Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings will be held in
Hanoi, Vietnam as part of APNIC's 20th Open Policy Meeting. The charter
of
the Database SIG is to examine developments in the operation of the
APNIC
Whois Database and to discuss related issues affecting registration
practices, database security, specification of objects and database
features.

This email is a request for contributions. Policy proposals and
presentations are welcome from anyone interested in the management of
Internet resources in the Asia Pacific region.

There are two types of presentations that can be made at a SIG: policy
proposals (P) or informational presentations (I).

Policy proposals need to be submitted to the DB SIG mailing list at
least 4
weeks in advance of the meeting, in text format. Requests to give an
informational presentation can be made at any time to the SIG Chair.

If you would like to make a policy proposal to the DB SIG at the meeting
in
Hanoi, please submit your proposal by 10 August 2005, using the online
form
at:

http://www.apnic.net/cgi-bin/policy_proposal.pl

Alternatively you can send your proposal in text format to the DB SIG
Chair,
cc'ing <sig@apnic.net>. Proposals will be forwarded to the DB SIG
mailing
list by the Secretariat. The Chair and Co-chair of the DB SIG will
review
the proposals.
