Hi all When the APNIC Whois Database was upgraded to version 3 on 20 August 2002, default MAINT-NULL mnt-by attributes were inserted into all inetnum objects that did not have an existing mnt-by attribute. At the 14th APNIC Open Policy Meeting, APNIC put forward a proposal to replace the default MAINT-NULL in these inetnum objects with the maintainer of the parent inetnum block. For information on the proposal, see: http://www.apnic.net/meetings/14/sigs/db/docs/db-pres-sanjaya-v3update.p pt No consensus was reached in the SIG and the Chair requested that APNIC set up a test project to gain a greater understanding of the proposal's potential impact. APNIC is now proposing a trial on 202.0.0.0/8 space, which mainly consists of inetnum objects protected by APNIC-HM. If this is acceptable, we will run the test and update the result in this mailing list. APNIC appreciates any comments you may have.
