Yes
the best way would definitely be to sought out international NGOs and Relief
Agencies in your regions that are contributing to the relief activities in
Pakistan. I appreciate that all of you have shown great concern and are making
efforts to find the right point of entry. UNICEF and UNESCO are making way into
the relief services including USA, UK, CHINA, JAPAN, TURKEY
etc.......

I agree with Kris’ idea
“Would the authorities concerned be open to put on the web all
receipts and payments for anyone to question and be responded to properly”. Most of authorities
in Pakistan will cash this incident and
miseries of the people to fill-up their Swiss accounts, as history proves. There
are a number of overseas Pakistanis and companies (almost all which I know here
in USA) who want to help as much as we
can but we don’t feel comfortable with local agencies, NGOs and authorities.
As far as Mr. Bajwa and
“fossfp.org” are concerned, I do appreciate their views and suggestion but
hardly I believe that they have any influence over these authorities or local
NGOs and authorities will listen what Mr. Bajwa, “fossfp.org”, myself or any
middle man has to say.
Personally, I would
suggest to go through Red Cross or any international NGOs who can do their own
local operation to assist the real deserving
families.
Just my personal
thought.

FOR EARTHQUAKE DISASTER RELIEF IN SOUTH ASIA
-DONATE NOW!
Dear
Kris,
Thank you for your
concern.
FOSSFP
does not have disaster relief facilities. What we can do is intimate our ICT
communities around the globe to respond to such a call. The contact
information/addresses that I forwarded are of the Government of Pakistan
(President’s Disaster Relief Cell) in the capital Islamabad. The second one is MKRF that is a
large scale NGO operated by GEO Television-The largest media group in Pakistan, in fact most of the news on
CNN and BBC is coming from GEO-TV.
From last
night to early this morning, relief teams have come in from USA, UK, Japan, China, France, Turkey, Middle
East with a large workforce of relief workers loaded with medicine,
tools, search equipment etc…… The teams are themselves responsible for their
inventories and relief workforce engagement, the people and government of
Pakistan are trying to get the relief
workers and aid to the cut off areas through heavy loader helicopters from the
US Military.
What we
can do is that if you forward us scanned copies of the receipts to
bajwa@fossfp.org, we will present them on
our website and intimate the media as well official authorities about the funds
that were directed into Pakistan by the international
community with the names and contact details clearly mentioned on the FOSSFP
website.
The rest,
may God help us and our nation in this time of hardship.
Amen!

Dear Fouad,
Your idea is laudable.
But can we demand transparency and accountability in whatever is boeing
done in the name of Earthquake Disaster relief?
This is not to cast
aspertions on whatever is being done or planned to be done. But just a matter of
caution, as a watchword.
Would the authorities concerned be open to put
on the web all receipts and payments for anyone to question and be responded to
properly?
