Dear Members and Friends, 

 

The first Global ICT Summit, with the theme "From Adversity to Success -
The World's Best e-Content & e-Creativity Experience", will be held at
Cyberport Hong Kong from 11 to 15 May 2004.

 

We are pleased to inform you that Dr. Songde Ma, Vice-Minister of
Science & Technology of the People's Republic of China; Dr. Abdul Moyeen
Khan, MP, Honourable Minister for Science and Information &
Communication Technology, Government Republic of Bangladesh; Mr. Freddy
Rodriguez, Minister of Telecommunications and TICs of Ecuador; Mr. K.K.
JASWAL, Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of
Communication & Information Technology, Government of India; Mr John
Michuki, Minister of Transport and Communication, Kenya; and Hon. Prof.
Mark Mwandosya, Minister of Communication and Transport, Government of
the United Republic of Tanzania have agreed to speak at the Summit.

 

With a shared vision to overcoming the global digital divide, this
international event is expected to bring together 400 ICT (i.e.
information and communication technology) experts and professionals from
over 20 countries to share the best practices in e-content and
e-creativity as well as to discuss and exchange knowledge and ideas that
will shape the future of global ICT development and help bridge the
digital divide on an international level.  In addition, the event will
provide a unique platform in the promotion of investment and creation of
business opportunities.  

 

The event is being co-hosted by the United Nations' World Summit Award
(WSA), The Global Alliance for Bridging the Digital Divide (GABDD),
Internet Professionals Association (iProA), The World Wide Web
Consortium Hong Kong (W3C HK), Hong Kong Cyberport, and Hong Kong
General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC). 

 

Our members can enjoy the member rate of HKD1,280 / USD160 for attending
the Summit.
