09-03-2004 (UNESCO New Delhi) - Though clearly bright and inventive, 24-year-old Deoki is a young woman with few prospects for employment. Getting involved in the local information and communication centre in her town in Darjeeling, a district in the West Bengal state of India famous introduced her to other young people in similar situations.
