BSS Financial Information Service (BFIS)-SDNP MoU

BSS-SDNP MoU on technical assistance for BFIS

DHAKA, 26 October 26 (BSS):- Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), the 
national news agency of the country, today entered
into an agreement with Sustainable Development Netweoking Project 
(SDNP), a BIDS project funded by UNDP, with the signing of a 
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

SDNP, under the MoU would extend technical support to BSS for its 
project, BSS Financial Information Service (BFIS) to be
launched shortly.

Managing Director and Chief Editor of the BSS Amanullah Kabir, and 
Project Director of SDNP and Research Director of BIDS
Dr M. Asaduzzaman signed the MoU on behalf of their respective sides.

With a view to disseminate financial information and economic 
activities, the BFIS is committed to render wide-range
coverage on the financial sector as well as to provide update data 
and news on various fields like money market, capital
market, corporate activities, trade and commerce, country's 
investment scenario, day-to-day business activities of different
companies, commodities prices, etc, for its clients in the financial 
sector.

Hamiduzzaman, In-Charge of BFIS and Senior Special Correspondent of 
BSS, Dr Hakikur Rahman, Project Co-ordinator of
SDNP, Golam Shahnee, Senior Staff Reporter, BSS, and BSS System 
Engineer Kaiser Ahmed, Assistant System Analyst Md Kamarul Haque, 
among others, were present at the function.

BFIS is expected to go into operation by mid-November, 2002.
