1.	GIIC INDIA CONFERENCE: ENHANCING HUMAN CAPITAL:
For the next week you can access a feature on the outcomes of the
Global Information Infrastructure Commission's conference on human
capital that took place in India in March, 2002.

A key focus of the conference was the use of ICTs in education and
training.  SchoolNet India presented an in-depth analysis of the
status of education in India from the perspective of a conceptual
framework emphasizing human capital in the knowledge-based economy.  

A new GIIC Education Project: "Information and Communications
Technology in Education: the Role of the Private Sector" was also
launched at the conference.
