Partnership in knowledge sharing: World Bank "Information Kiosks" in
the British Libraries

Here's some good news for those interested in development work:
students, academics and economists, amongst others. Major
publications of the World Bank such as its annual indicators, Global
Development Finance, Annual Report as well as other key reports and
analytic work in different sectors of relevance to India are now
available for reference at some of the British Council libraries. As
part of their worldwide partnership to promote knowledge for
development, the World Bank and British Council have tied up to
introduce World Bank "Information Kiosks" in the British Libraries at
Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad [http://www.bclindia.org/ ].
These kiosks contain, apart from the Bank's flagship publications
mentioned above, all publicly disclosed documents related to Bank
projects being implemented in India. Besides, computer terminals have
been provided to enable visitors to access the Bank's wide array of
electronic information products country and sector-specific
information, data and statistics and full text databases on its web
sites. Through these kiosks, the British Council and the World Bank
hope to make the Bank's vast knowledge resources easily accessible to
a wide audience.
