[pacnog] RE: PacNOG 2 participant list - Thank you!

Wanted to do this earlier but was trying to catch up with work
first.....

I just wanted to thank APNIC (Save), PITA (Fred), ISOC, ICANN, IANA and
CityLink for organizing PACNOG2 and to the instructors especially for
the Routing and Networking Sections which I was in. (Phil and Joule of
CISCO and University of Oregon respectively) Thank you also for the
O'Reilly books we received. And last but not least a big thank you to
Alex and his hardworking staff at SamoaTel for hosting PAGNOC2. (and pls
forgive me if I have missed anyone out).

After having gone thru my first PACNOG, I am able to say I am in full
support of more PACNOG workshops in the future. My organization is not a
member of PITA nor am I an ISP but despite this I am very happy to put
my name down to help in some form or other.

What do I want to see in future PACNOGs? :

Training for Govt entities who are not ISPs or telcos but who also
manage WANs/MANs just the same. We may provide internet services to our
users across many sites in our capital towns/cities but that is not the
only thing we do. Usually our main goal is to provide access to
applications which may be Financial, GIS, Border Management, Health
applications, etc.

And not just cisco routing but also to look at network design / project
management workshops where we go thru case studies and look at
implementing various technical solutions such as fibre, wireless, ASDL,
etc taking into account, application bandwith requirements, no. of
users, limited budgets, restrictive licensing and geographic
constraints, etc. And above all being able to sell such solutions to
upper management.

Hope this sparks some challenging future workshops.

See you all at PACNOG-3.

Rgds.

Ilu.
