This is the formal call for presentations of next open NIR 
meeting.

                         Bangkok, March 3-7th

            Call For Presentations for the Open NIR Meeting

The Open NIR Meeting will be held in Bangkok on 3-7th October as part 
of the APNIC policy meeting.  This meeting is open for everyone for the 
discussion about policies and operations about IP address distribution
through NIR scheme.

This email is a request for presentations from all of you from the Asia
Pacific region.  I'm looking for presentations which have some relevance 
to policies and operations issue around NIR, such as:

   - NIR Operations 
   - Relations among APNIC, LIRs and NIRs
   - any proposal for better NIR Scheme 
   - Status reports on NIR operations


If you would like to present something like above in the meeting, send 
your proposal to maem@maem.org, cc-ing  to nir-discuss@apnic.net and
to sig@apnic.net.  Proposals should be sent by January 7th, 2001.

                           Requirements
                           ------------
The proposal:
   
   - should be relavant to NIR issues
   - should be within 1000 words,

and

   - If it is a policy proposal, you should describe your perspective 
     on the topic including its pros/cons from various aspects
   - If it is a report, you should demonstrate it would be informative
     enough for other NIRs and some other parties
   - should indicate the time required (15 minutes or shorter would be
     preferred)

The schedule is:

   7th January     - Proposal deadline
   11th February   - Notification of acceptance
   11th   - Presentation paper or material sent to 'sig-policy' 
   3-7th March - Presentation of paper at SIG
