Re: [hostmaster-staff] Renaming - NIR meeting to NIR SIG
Hi Maemura-san,
Thank you for being a proactive chairman but I am not clear on the reason
why do you wish to convert the NIR meeting to become a SIG. Based on my
knowledge, please correct me if I am wrong, the SIG is a group of people
come together as a working group to find a solution to a problem or issue
then when the solution is found the group will desolve. An example of such
group is the cable modem SIG, which is now does not exist because this
group had produced a policy for cable Modem. Where as NIR meeting, it was
original set up to allow NIRs and APNIC come together and discuss issues
in the AP that could affect both APNIC and NIRs as a whole. As such I
believe that the NIR meeting should be an ongoing process or do you wish
to make this meeting less frequent?
