[APNIC Members][Apnic-announce] New RIR Statistics Exchange Format

Dear Colleagues

On 5 January 2004, the Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) will adopt a new
standard format for statistical reports on the status of Internet resource
allocations and assignments. The RIR statistics files summarise the current
state of allocations and assignments of:

 - IPv4 address ranges
 - IPv6 address ranges
 - AS numbers

They are intended to provide a snapshot of the status of Internet number
resources, without any details of transaction histories.

This new standard format replaces the previous statistics exchange format,
and differs from it in significant ways. It will ensure consistency of RIR
statistical reports and will make it easier for users to integrate the data
from reports by different RIRs.

For full details of the new report format and availability, please see:

    http://www.apnic.net/db/rir-stats-format.html

The APNIC's statistics files are published at:

    ftp://ftp.apnic.net/pub/apnic/stats/apnic/new/delegated-apnic-latest

Until 5 January, the data will published in the previous format.

Regards
