Dear APNIC Member,
I am writing with a final reminder that nominations for vacancies on the
APNIC Executive Council will close tomorrow, Thursday 21 February.
Three EC positions will be opened for election at the APNIC Annual
Member Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand on 7 March 2002.
I encourage all APNIC members to consider nominating to serve on APNIC's
Executive Council. By becoming involved as an EC member, you will be
providing a valuable service to the Asia Pacific Internet community, and
playing a very important role in regional Internet coordination.
The commitment in time is not onerous. Monthly meetings are held via
teleconference, and EC members generally participate in the six-monthly
APNIC Open Policy Meetings held at different locations in the region.
Although the EC positions are voluntary, APNIC reimburses reasonable
expenses for attendance at APNIC meetings.

All nominees will have the opportunity to submit a written statement in
support of their nomination, for publication on the web site. It is not
necessary for nominees to attend the APNIC Annual Member Meeting in
Bangkok, however those who do attend will also have the chance to make a
short statement prior to the election.
