Re: [GLOBAL-V6] Re: I-D ACTION:draft-narten-ipv6-3177bis-48boundary-00.txt

(I'm not sure the copies to the ipv6 list were useful, so
I've dropped it here.)

I really only have three comments on this draft, which I support,
and I think that most of the thread has been irrelevant to the actual
content of the draft.

1. The draft obsoletes 3177. To avoid ambiguity, it seems
that the IAB and IESG should agree. Do you want this draft to
become a formal IAB+IESG draft? If not, I think it should
include an explicit statement such as

The current IAB and IESG have agreed to this reclassification.

at the end of section 1.

2. I haven't checked in detail, but it seems to me that there
is some general material in 3177 which is not copied here, but
which remains valid. Shouldn't that material be included, since
3177 would become Historic?

3. I think it would be useful to add a note that if a site
starts out with a /56, migrating later to a /48, if needed,
would be fairly painless (no need to reorganize existing subnets).
But migrating from a /48 to a /56 could be painful.
